British Better to Pay & Have Little Left Orange Luster Small Pearlware Jug

Antique British pearlware small jug. With orange luster decoration and the saying "Better to Pay, & Have Little Left, Than to Keep Much and Be Always in Debt" in black transfer below the spout. Unmarked. Circa 1820 to 1830s.

Has crazing typical of earthenware, and a few small glazed over in manufacture firing separations and a small chip to the rim.

Measures approximately 4 1/8 inches wide from spout to handle x 3 1/4 inches tall.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
